Citywide celebration of community climate action
This June Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership is coordinating a citywide celebration of community climate and nature action. On 18 June our Partnership Gathering will bring together community groups, businesses and the public sector to celebrate local action and reflect on how to support communities to lead on this vital work. From 8 – 22 June partners from our Community Climate Action Project are hosting a range of fringe events to showcase their work over the last few years.
Fringe festival
The community climate action fringe brings together partners from across Bristol, who are sharing learning from the last three years of delivering exciting projects for climate and nature in their local areas, as well as citywide. Join them for some exciting events at different sites around the city to hear about what’s been achieved, what they learnt and how you could take action.
There are events for everyone, such as:
- Soil to table celebration of food in Lawrence Weston
- Lessons learnt from Easton Community Centre’s retrofit journey
- Bioblitz bird survey in Lockleaze
- Calculating your community carbon footprint with the Centre for Sustainable Energy
- A celebratory community day at Hartcliffe City Farm
- Meeting the ACH team at Bristol Refugee Festival

Partnership Gathering
Alongside the community events, we’re hosting a Partnership gathering on 18 June at Gloucestershire Country Cricket Club. Our speakers will focus on the role of community leadership in the net zero transition and nature recovery, with opportunities for small group discussions and informal networking. Join us to celebrate the power of community leadership in driving a fast and fair transition to net zero.
The gathering and fringe events are part of our National Lottery funded Community Climate Action Project, an ambitious citywide programme demonstrating the important role communities can play in achieving the city’s climate and nature ambitions, whilst also improving people’s quality of life.
